Are you hanging up your dance shoes or staying on your toes?
Its been 4 weeks since our last blog post and how things have changed! With nearly half the worlds population staying at home, the COVID-19 pandemic has left millions of dancers stuck indoors and unable to go to their regular dance classes, studios and competitions.

Over the last few weeks there has been a growing number of free dance lessons and performances appearing online.
We thought we would list some of the classes and performances available to you from the comfort of your own home. Perfect for seasoned dancers or a great opportunity to try something new!
1. Sadler’s Wells
Sadler’s Wells presents a programme of full-length dance performances and workshops online, to keep you entertained and connected through dance, wherever you are in the world.

Peter and the Wolf
The Royal Ballet and The Royal Ballet School perform Matthew Hart’s Peter and the Wolf, choreographed to Prokofiev’s charming music. This recording was originally made in 2010 and is available to watch on-demand until 26 April 2020.
Acis and Galetea
The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet present Wayne McGregor’s production of Handel’s Acis and Galatea

3. Birmingham Royal Ballet

The Swan
A poignant and unique solo performance by Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Céline Gittens. This “gift to you”, The Swan, has an ending specially adapted by Director Carlos Acosta. He says this “dance about life, about hope”, which was filmed in performers’ homes, is “a new beginning”

Northern Ballets 1984
Based on George Orwell’s masterpiece and choreographed by Jonathan Watkins, 1984 pushes the boundaries of contemporary ballet and won the dance award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards in June 2016.
