Our Exclusive T-Shirt: The Design Process

We hope you have had a chance to browse through our new product launches – we have worked hard this year to make sure we bring you all new and exciting products that you’ll love! Our exclusive Freed of London branded T-shirts are now available to purchase, so you can carry us with you anywhere and everywhere. A new product meeting was held in mid-April, and after the Freed of London team had their brief, the design and manufacturing process began and our branded T-shirts were on their way to being completed!

After speaking to Unn, one of our London designers, she explained that it was important to the team that the T-shirts were designed and printed in the UK. Making sure the T-shirts were made of sustainable materials was an absolute must for the team, as well as using soft, organic vegan cotton. Ultimately, the team wanted a nice and simple branded T-shirt that could be worn everyday by our adoring Freed Fans… so we’re very happy with the final result!

Through the whole process a variety of different designs were tried and tested for both the shape of the T-shirts and for the prints use on the front and back of the products. It was decided that the Freed of London ‘peanut’ logo would be used, and that the T-shirts would be available in black and white, each with a different design.

As well as this, the design team were also aware of the importance each pointe shoe maker holds to our dancers, and we wanted to make sure you could hold them with you wherever you went! We were really happy with the final decision to include all pointe maker badges on the back panel of our T-shirts, as we know how much your maker means to you and your passion to dance!

Also, a fun fact about our pointe maker symbols – Mr. Freed originally decided to assign each maker a symbol which would be stamped on every shoe they made so that if there were any complaints, he would know who made the shoe!
